Assembly of our balustrade system

To save time, the balustrade and column halves should be glued together before starting assembly. Apply a styralith glue to one of the two halves about 1 cm away from the edge. Put the two halves together with light pressure. Where glue escapes from the joint, let it cure and cut it off with a sharp knife. It is better to leave a small joint that you can later close with styralith grouting mass.

If you required system angles for your construction, you should also assemble them beforehand. For this, screw two assembly rails with the respective required angle of 45° or 90°. Ensure that the angle strap points in the opposite direction of the open "U" of the assembly  rail.

Step1:

Before starting to screw the frame together, you should put out the round steel frame without screws. Place the basis rails and system angles where the balustrade is to be installed. If you have to shorten a basic rail, observe that it must only be shortened in the indicated grid of 200mm.

Now place the frames in the indicated positions. Start at the system angle ends and distribute the frames regularly at a distance of 80cm. When this distribution is okay, align the frames and screw them together according to the structural provisions. Screws, dowels, etc. must be provided on-site, since attachment will be different depending on situation.

Now install the basic rail and system angles by pushing them over the frame. Observe that the opening of the "U" is pointing upwards.

Step 2:

Push the parts of the base rail onto the steel pipe frame. If using 45° or 90° connections, check the fit again before gluing by mounting the parts without glue.

When all distances are okay, glue on the Styralith base rails.

Step 3:

Verkleben der einzelnen Balustraden Elemente im Styralith-Spezialkleber Now glue balustrade and columns on the base rail as shown in the picture. Align the balustrade and columns according with the edge of the base rail.

Step 4:

Verkleben des Handlaufs

Now apply glue on the front of the balustrade. Then blue the lower parts of the hand rail to the balustrades as shown.

(Also glue all parts at the front!)

Step 5:

Now install the upper part of the steel frame by pushing the basis rail and system angles over the vertical frame until they have disappeared into the indicated gaps in the lower part of the hand rail. Attention: the opening of the "U" must point upwards. Press the steel parts downwards firmly so that the glue faces between balustrade and lower part of the hand rail are cleanly joined.

Step 6:

In the last assembly work step, the upper part of the hand rail is glued on. When using 45° or 90° connections, check the fit again before gluing by mounting the parts without glue. If the gap distances are correct, glue is applied to the outer surfaces of the lower part of the hand rail.

Also glue the steep parts to the lower part of the hand rail. Then attach the upper parts of the hand rail and press them on lightly. Now check again that all glue connections are well joined. Then assembly of the styralith balustrade is complete.

Step 7:

When the glue is dry, all present gaps must be grouted with styralith grouting mass. By application of our special coating, you will achieve an even harder, more resistant surface. Last, the styralith balustrade needs to be given a final coat of paint to protect it from UV radiation and weather.
